Last news of the year
23/12/2024
Last news of the year, we are now done until the 6th of January but we are still here to take lots of orders for us to do in the New Year. That does not mean I will not be doing a little, tiddly bit of work on a couple of new prototypes. Obviously one Edwardian type model, I say Edwardian type because I like to make specials and speedsters which are often made from old photos of one offs but are actual cars and I find them very interesting.
Our first release of 2025 will be the Ford C100 Le Mans car. It is all done and ready to go and I think looks very good. Three 1/24 cars are almost done including a revamped Mini Cooper, the Porsche 356 coupe and roadster, and maybe the Austin A35.
Then back to 1/32 scale, I fancy making a Holman and Moody Honker, what do you think? Plus a Lola T190/10 group C car. I have also blocked out a Chevron B8 and a little Ginetta.
Now for a little moan, I have to keep up the grumpy old man appearance after all. This year we received the greatest number of rude and impatient messages and emails we ever had. Some were only a couple of days after the order had been placed. As many of you know there are only two of us here, working out of a 'shed' in the garden and all of our kits are hand made. As a result things take a little bit of time. But I imagine most of you know the wait is worth it in the end. We are as small scale as you can get really, we are not amazon with a massive industrial fulfillment complex able to get your items to you in 50 seconds. So what we ask, on behalf of all independant sellers, is that you extend a modicum of patience to us. In the end we are people and if you treat us with kindness you will get the same back, immediately start with annoyed and rude words and our will to help you decreases very fast. And I think we try very hard in that regard. We are human after all and do make mistakes, and have our limits. Especially this time of year we should all approach each other with kindness and respect first.
On the note of us making mistakes, it does happen, we know, only human. But what we ask is you give us the chance to fix it for you. If there is a problem with a kit, a part missing, or something is broken, your dog ate it and it needs a replacement, let us know directly. As many of you know we are more than happy to get things sorted and get things posted out free of charge when we can. And we are always here to offer advice. So please get in touch with us first, we are much less likely to see things that are posted up in forums etc.
(Hopefully this satisfies the people who miss my angry rants ;) )
Anyway, enough with the griping. It is the end of the year and now a time for relaxing, eating, and drinking too much. So we wish all of our lovely customers a wonderful Christmas or whichever holiday is most appropriate for you, and a happy and prosperous new year. Now go buy a kit, Turkey is expensive!
